CLARA HELEN ZIMMER CASEY

Class of 1930

Clara Helen Zimmer, born August 7, 1908, was the daughter of William F. Zimmer (1857-1987) and his wife Mary (Trapp) (1865-1939). William and Mary immigrated from Nassau, Germany in 1888 and 1890, respectively, according to the 1910 census of Cambria County. William worked as a laborer in a brewing company. Children named in census records are Margerite, Hilda, Joseph, Anna, Florence, Clara, Phillip, Marion, Geraldine, William, and Lenora.

Clara's sister, Frances M. Zimmer, graduated in the St. Francis School of Nursing Class of 1915.

Clara married Thomas F. Casey, the son of George Casey and Loretta Gallagher, on 3 May 1937 in Allegheny County. At the time of the 1940 census, Clara's sister, Frances, a nurse in a steel mill, resided with Clara Helen and her husband, Frank, at 5143 Coral St., near Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh. "Frank" worked as a Refrigeration Man.

Clara Helen Zimmer Casey, a resident of Ross Township, died November 19, 1999.
