FRANCES M. ZIMMER

Class of 1915

Frances M. Zimmer, born September 04, 1889, was the daughter of William F. Zimmer (1857-1987) and his wife Mary (Trapp) (1865-1939). William and Mary immigrated from Nassau, Germany in 1888 and 1890, respectively, according to the 1910 census of Cambria County. William worked as a laborer in a brewing company. Children named in census records are Margerite, Hilda, Joseph, Anna, Florence, Clara, Phillip, Marion, Geraldine, William, and Lenora.

In 1930, Frances was a hospital nurse, and she was a "roomer" in the the Rose Kraman home on (or near) Herron Avenue in Pittsburgh. The home owner's sister, Mattie Kraman, was also a hospital nurse.

At the time of the 1940, Frances, a nurse in a steel mill, resided with her sister, Clara Helen, the wife of Frank (Thomas F.) Zimmer, at 5143 Coral St., near Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh.

Clara Helen Zimmer graduated in the St. Francis School of Nursing Class of 1930.

Frances M. Zimmer died in January 13, 1968. She is buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
