ELIZABETH JOAN DICKEY

Class of 1944

Elizabeth Dickey's sister, Dorothy Marie Dickey, graduated in the Class of 1948-S.

At the time of the 1940 Federal Census of Ambridge, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Michael Dickey, born in New York, and Anna (Sovich) Dickey, born in Pennsylvania, had four daughters: Helen [Ellen], 21, Elizabeth, 19, Anna, 18, and Dorothy, 12. Michael, born in 1892, was an Army veteran of World War I.

While a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Elizabeth J. Dickey participated in the U. S., World War II Cadet Nursing Corps. Following graduation, she served in the U. S. Army Nurse Corps from January 2, 1945 until May 31, 1948.

Elizabeth's father died on September 7, 1969. Her mother died February 5, 1991.

Elizabeth and her sisters, Helen and Anna, didn't marry. Dorothy married and lived in New Jersey.

Born on June 20, 1920, Elizabeth died on November 29, 2006; last residence, Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. She's buried at Sylvania Hills Cemetery, Beaver County.
