HUSBAND'S OBITUARY - James S. Cala, 86, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Friday evening at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Bellevue on Aug. 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Samuel and Josephine Cala. Jim worked for various Pittsburgh-area companies as a construction project manager. He served as an MP in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills. Surviving are his wife, Armelda Luba Cala, whom he married on Feb. 9, 1956; daughter, Rose Anne Tamok of White Oak; son, James Cala of Mars; grandchildren, Alexis Brown and Miranda Tamok; and two sisters, Minnie McMahon in California and Grace Potts of Pittsburgh.He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannette Dees, and two brothers, Phillip and John Cala. -- CALA - A private graveside service for James S. Cala, who died Friday, June 2, 2017, was held at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Ross Township. Arrangements were under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
