OBITUARY: Sara Jane (Linder) Reitler, 79, of McGrann passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 in the Cleveland Clinic after a brave battle with cancer. - She was born June 29, 1925 in Pittsburgh to August Julius and DeSales (Roach) Linder. - A registered nurse, she practiced her profession at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital; the former Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries in Ford City; Armstrong County Visiting Nurses; and the Area Agency on Aging, where she brought comfort to many seniors in the county. - She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. - She was a member of the former St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Ford City, where she was a former board member. - She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association. - In 1993, she was inducted into the Ford City Hall of Fame. - A long time member of the Ford City Heritage Days Committee, she was in charge of the children's activities. - She lived a full and active life as mother of five and will be sadly missed by the many children that she called her own and to whom she gave love and a home. - Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Reitler of Templeton, Barbara Bittinger and husband Lynn of Stow, Ohio, and Janet Reitler of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brian Kwolek, Annie Lerman and husband Michael and Carrissa Reitler; two great-grandsons, Alexander and Owen; two brothers, Gus Linder of Pittsburgh and Donald Linder of Ohio and Florida; three sisters, DeSales Montgomery of Ohio, Virginia Martin of Pittsburgh and Alice Land of California; and 33 nieces and nephews. - She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Jack and Richard Linder; and her two beloved sons, John Karl Pierre and Richard Dale Reitler. - Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Prince of Peace Parish, Ford City with the Rev. Edward Lewis officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
