Elynor Dean Lindenfelser was born on November 12, 1924 to Michael and Anna (Lipchik) Kranack, both born in Austria. Anna died of pneumonia on April 3, 1925 at age 39.
Elynor's sister, Ella Kranack, a graduate of the St. Francis Class of 1922, married John Raymond Lindenfelser and they had a son. They adopted Elynor and she became Elynor Lindenfelser.
Elynor participated in the Cadet Nursing Corps at St. Francis during World War II.
She married John Lawrence Steel in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, 1948/1949.

Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Friends received at the Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. Funeral Monday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m.
Plain Dealer, July 14, 1997-- ELYNOR DEAN STEEL was a registered nurse who worked at three Cleveland area hospitals. - Her mother was a nurse, and three of her daughters are nurses. - Mrs. Steel, 72, was born in Pittsburgh and graduated from St. Lawrence High School and St. Frances School of Nursing in 1945. - She worked at the Cleveland Clinic and Brentwood Hospital and retired from St. Alexis Hospital when she was 62. - She was the youngest of 10 children. Her mother died when she was 6 months old, and an older sister adopted her. Mrs. Steel died Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic. - Her husband, John L., died in 1987. - Survivors include her daughters, Holly M. LeHockey of Quantico, Va., Laurie A. Heady of Dearborn, Mich., and Eileen Kempe of Bedford; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters. - Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 9451 Brandywine Rd., Northfield. - Ferfolia Funeral Home in Sagamore Hills Township is handling arrangements.
