Katherine Philapine Larson, also Lorson, born December 14, 1983 in Pittsburgh, was the daughter of Johann (John) Lorsung/Lorson, born in Pittsburgh, and Katharina Driestadt, born in Prussia. Katharina died in Pittsburgh on April 18, 1885, at which time Katherine would have been an infant, and her mother's last child.

The family is found in the 1900 Federal Census, in Baldwin Township, Allegheny County. The father, John Lorson, a coal miner, had been remarried for 14 years and had additional children. The children in the "Lorson" home in 1900 were: John, Mary E., Michael, and Catherine, children of Katherina Driestadt. Another son, Nicholas, had died in 1898. Children of John and his second wife in 1900 were August, Louis, Oscar, Charles and Josephine.

"Catherine P. Larson," 43, Single, Trained Hospital Nurse, was renting an apartment on Climax Street in Pittsburgh at the time of the 1930 census.

From the list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Katherine P. Larson, 325 Moore Ave., Knox., Pittsburgh."

Katherine Larson, 53, Registered Nurse, born in Pittsburgh, is found on Moore Street in the 1940 census. Also in the home is Edward Larson, nephew, age 33.

Katherine P. Larson died on September 25, 1955, and she is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
