Class of 1921
At the time of the 1910 Federal Census of Hampton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Fred B. Larbig, born in Germany, and his wife, Rosa P., born in Pennsylvania, had the following children: John A., 17, George, 16, Catherine, 14, Rosalie, 11, Anna M., 10, Clara, 9, Ernest, 6, Marie E., 4, Agnes, 2, and Loretta, 8 months.
In the 1920 census, Clara Mae, a student nurse at St. Francis hospital, was listed as "Mae Larbig," age 20. She and her mother, who was Rosa P. Young, were born in Pennsylvania, and her father was born in Germany. In a newspaper article listing the graduates of the Class of 1921, Clara is "May Larbig."
Clar Clara Larbig married Charles P. Hartman. They are found in Pittsburgh in the 1930 census. The 1940 census indicates they had lived in Pittsburgh in 1935, but in 1940, they were residents of Dayton, Campbell County, Kentucky. They had the following children: Frederick, 13, Charles, 13, Rosemary, 11, Ralph, 10, Robert, 8, and Lawrence, 5. All were born in Pennsylvania.
From an article in The Cincinnati Enquirer, June 9, 1968: "Newly ordained Rev. Raymond Hartman will succeed Father Bierman at Maysville. Son of Charles P. and Clara Larbig Hartman, Dayton, has two brothers and one sister in religious vocations. - One brother is Rev. Ralph Hartman, editor of The Messenger, weekly newspaper of the Diocese of Covington. Another is Rev. Robert J. Hartman, of the Order of the Divine Word, a missionary in the Congo. The sister is Sister Rose Anthony, of the Sisters of Divine Providence."
Charles P. Hartman died in 1972. His wife's name is stated as Clara G. Larbig, not Clara Mae. Clara G. Larbig Hartman, born on April 7, 1901, died in Kenton County, Kentucky on March 12, 1987.
