Class of 1942
Annaliese Ladzinski was born in Germany about 1921. She was the daughter of Ephrem/Ephraim Ladzinski, born in Poland, who brought his family to the United States in 1923. At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, the family lived at Sophia Street, East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Ohio. The father, 45, was employed as a Slip Maker at a Pottery (Homer Laughlin). His wife, Johanna (Reinecke), 42, and daughter, "Anna L.," 9, were born in Germany. Daughter, Marie, 4, was born in Ohio.
In the 1940 census, Annaliese Ladzinski was a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital and she lived at the Nurses' Home. The record indicates that she and both parents were born in Poland, and she was a Naturalized Citizen.
Following graduation from the school of nursing, Annaliese joined the Army Nurse Corps. She married Edward J. Wood in France.
SISTER'S OBITUARY: (Major, U. S. Army) - STONE, MARIE F., Retired City & County of Denver Employee - Marie F. Stone, 78, of Aurora, died October 9, 2004. She was born Marie Frieda Ladzinski on January 24, 1926. She married Frank L. Stone on September 30, 1950. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, she is survived by her children: Larry; Michael (Renee); Lisa (David Boswell); and her sister Annaliese (Edward Wood). - Memorial service 10am Friday, October 22 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Aurora. Graveside service 12pm at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A". Reception to follow at VFW Post #1 in Denver.
