Born in Pennsylvania about 1925, Helen Kuzir was the daughter of William (Wasyl) Kuzir and Catherine Fedyshyn, both born in Poland.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, William and Catherine Kuzir, residents of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, had the following children: Mary, 14, Mike, 12, Betty, 9, Pauline, 7, and Helen, 4. The last four children were at home in the 1940 census.

The Marriage License Applications, published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on January 15, 1953, indicate that Helen Kuzir of McKees Rocks intended to marry Charles K. Koivu of Calumet, Michigan. They divorced in 1973 in Alameda County, California.

Helen Koivu, of Castro Valley, Alameda County, California, last renewed her nursing license in 1983.

Carol A. Kuzir, married name Warnock, St. Francis Class of 1963, is probably the daughter of Helen's brother, Michael Kuzir.
