OBITUARY --- [2/9/1927- 6/12/2012] Violet Jean Maslanka, age 85 of 2550 Cypress Lane Kissimmee, Florida 34746 died Tuesday, June 12 in her home of natural causes. She was born in Ploc, Poland, and she was raised in Uniontown, Pa., and she moved to Kissimmee, Fl. in 1977. She was a registered nurse and co-owner of Modern Day Furniture in Intercession City, Fl. She is survived by her sons, Anthony Jr., Timothy W., Thomas F. and Todd M. Maslanka, 5 grandchildren, Tommy, Johnny and Alma Maslanka (children of Thomas and Beata Maslanka) and Zachary and Shelby Maslanka (children of Todd & Danielle Maslanka) and one Grandchild, Jordan Michael Maslanka son of Tommy and Yessenia Maslanka. Private Memorial Services will be held at later date at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services under the direction of OSCEOLA MEMORY GARDENS CEMETERY, FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, Florida.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY--- The Orlando Sentinel (FL) - Friday, June 16, 2000 -- ANTHONY "TONY" MASLANKA, 73, Cypress Lane, Kissimmee, died Wednesday, June 14. Mr. Maslanka was the owner and operator of Modern Day Furniture in Kissimmee. He was born in Allison, Pa. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kissimmee. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kissimmee. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 4225, Kissimmee. Survivors: wife, Violet, Kissimmee; sons, Anthony, Jr., Thomas Frances, Todd Michael, all of Kissimmee, Timothy Wayne, Beaver, Pa.; brothers, Ted, Cleveland, Frank, Englewood; sisters, Elizabeth Nagle, Homosassa, Constance Tretter, Brownsville, Pa., five grandchildren. Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, Kissimmee.

Jul. 10, 2012 - Violet Maslanka died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. She was 85 years old. Violet was raised in Pennsylvania; her sister Phyllis Chesler was owner of Chesler’s Furniture located in Uniontown Pennsylvania. In 1977 Violet Maslanka moved to Florida. She was the owner of Modern Day Furniture located in Intercession City. Modern Day Furniture was a La-Z-Boy dealer. It was closed by Violet because of financial problems.

Violet Maslanka had many financial problems in 2010. She was unable to pay the real estate tax due on her property in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The property was sold by the Fayette County Tax Claim Bureau. The Maslanka mobile home in Kissimmee Florida was declared unsafe by Madeline Lopez, an Osceola County Code Enforcement Officer. Violet's 2008 Chevrolet Impala was reprocessed by Wells Fargo Dealer Services. Unfortunately Violet Maslanka lived her last years in poverty without proper housing and transportation. The oldest son Timothy Maslanka was the source of many legal & financial problems.

Timothy Maslanka was employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Janssen Pharmaceutical. The parent company Johnson & Johnson terminated his employment in 2002 because he violated the expense reimbursement policy and use of the corporate credit card. Timothy Maslanka filed a civil case against Johnson & Johnson, however the New Jersey Court ruled against Maslanka and he lost the case. Timothy Maslanka was arrested on criminal charges by the Osceola County Sheriff in 2008 and again in 2012. The legal problems and criminal charges caused considerable financial damage to the Maslanka family in Florida.

Timothy Maslanka was arrested by the Osceola County Sheriff in 2008 and charged with: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, fleeing police and drug charges. On June 19th 2012 Timothy Maslanka was arrested again and booked in the Osceola County Jail.

The 2012 criminal case against Timothy Maslanka is set for pre-trial on July 18th by Osceola County Judge Hal C. Epperson, JR.
