Obituary of Antoinette Kozak-McKnight Sellger
Age 80, of Menifee, California, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, February 26, 2012. She was born on July 31, 1931 to the late John and Helen Kozak. She was the eldest of three children. Her husbands, Dr. J. William McKnight and Paul G. Sellger, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Bill (Lisa) McKnight of San Diego, CA, her daughter, Tanne McKnight of Roselle Park, NJ, and her two grandchildren, Robby McKnight and Christi McKnight. She is also survived by her loving sister, Mary Jane (John) Rosile and her brother, Al (Mary) Kozak, both from Pittsburgh, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Upon marrying, she and her husband moved to Florida, where he opened his medical practice while she continued working at the VA hospital in St. Petersburg. After her husband's death, she and her children moved back home to Pittsburgh, where she lived for many years. She enjoyed a long career in nursing as assistant director of nursing at Allegheny Hospital and a nurse at Equibank until her retirement. A graduate of Schenley High School, she received her RN from St. Francis School of Nursing and her BSN from The Catholic University of America. In 1979, she married Paul, and they enjoyed 19 years together until his passing. She then moved to California to be close to her grandchildren. Antoinette enjoyed reading, playing cards, home decorating, and spending time with her Cairn Terrier, Muffy. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Beinhauer Family Funeral Home, located at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Benedict the Abbot Church on Tuesday at 10:00 am.
