OBITUARY: DRAPCHAK – Jeanette “Tut” (Koslin), 71, died peacefully at home on May 31, 2008. She was born on Sept. 2, 1937, in Johnstown. Jeanette, originally of Johnstown, lived in Linden, N.J., for more than 38 years, and recently returned home to Johnstown. Mrs. Drapchak was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Frank” “Red” Drapchak, originally of Johnstown; her parents, Mark and Olga (Brencic) Koslin; and by her companion, Joseph DeAllesandro, formerly of Westfield, N.J. Jeanette, known to her family as “Tut,” is survived by her sister, Marlene (Koslin) Certo, and her husband, Vince, of Johnstown; and her brother, Michael Koslin, and his wife, Gina (Griffiths), of Johnstown. She is also survived by her nieces, Michele Certo and Nickol Certo, both of Accokeek, Md.; her special nephew, Michael Francis Koslin, Johnstown; niece, Roxann Mochan, Philadelphia; niece, Christina Drapchak-Vesco, and her husband, Jeff, and son, Joseph, of Arizona; and nephew, John Drapchak, Arizona. She is also survived by her special cousin, Steve Kriss of Philadelphia. Jeanette will also be missed by her family of neighbors and friends in New Jersey, with whom she enjoyed many travels and Broadway shows. She most especially loved her beach trips to Stone Harbor, N.J., with her family. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1955, St. Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, in 1958, and Moravian College, Bethlehem. A registered nurse, Jeanette retired from Rahway Hospital, now Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center Rahway, as infection control coordinator after 35 years of service. During her tenure, she was often called to be a member of various panels on infection control in New Jersey. After her retirement, she held consultant positions with various organizations in the state of New Jersey. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., and funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rochus Catholic Church, by the Rev. Charles M. Amershek Jr. and Father Joseph Kapusnak. A memorial service will also be held in New Jersey. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Windber Hospice, which provided great comfort to Jeanette in her final weeks.
