At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, "Lucille" Kison, 16, resided in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, with her parents, Herbert S., a dentist, and his wife, Josephine (Graham), who was born in New York. Lucille had a sister, Betty J. Kison, age 10.
By 1940, Lucille, a trained nurse, and her sister, Betty Jane, lived with their mother in New Castle. The marital status of the mother is "Widowed" but she was divorced.
From a list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Vera Lucille Kison, 215 E. Lincoln Ave., New Castle."
Her father, Herbert Stifel Kison, a dentist, died in McKeesport Hospital in October 1953. He is buried at North Side Cemetery, Butler, Pa.

OBITUARY: Lucille Kison Glaspey, 90, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at her residence in Mount Jackson. - She was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1914, in Butler, the daughter of Herbert S. and Josephine Grahm Kison. - Lucille was a graduate of New Castle High School, received her bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University and her nursing degree from the former St. Francis School of Nursing. - She was employed by Mohawk Area Schools as a school nurse for 25 years. - She married Robert C. Glaspey on Dec. 28, 1955. He preceded her in death. - She was a member of Wimodausis, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Slippery Rock University and St. Francis School of Nursing alumni groups. - Mrs. Glaspey had attended Bessemer Presbyterian Church. - Survivors include two sons, Robert C. Glaspey Jr. of Cranberry Township and James Glaspey of Raphine, Va.; and a sister, Betty Jane Schwerin of Sonoma, Calif. - Visitation will be at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St., Bessemer on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. A service will be held at the Terry A.
