Margaret Mary Killeen was born on July 14, 1922 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. Her parents were Thomas A. Killeen and Agnes T. Braddock.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census of Wheeling, West Virginia, the Killeen family lived on Birch Avenue. Mr. Killeen was the manager of a music company. He and his wife, Agnes, were the parents of Thomas, Jr., 11, Margaret, 7, Elizabeth, 5, and Mary Agnes (d 1977), 4 months.

Margaret served as a LTJG in the U. S. Navy during World War II. She entered service on August 1, 1944 and was discharged on June 17, 1946.

George H. Benskin, Jr., who attained the rank of Colonel in the U. S. Marine Corps, was the husband of Margaret Killeen. Born on June 5, 1924, he died on October 22, 1988. Margaret Killeen Benskin died on December 24, 1983, last residence, San Diego, California. They are buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego.
