Teresa Kiefer was born about 1932. Her parents were Jacob B. Kiefer and Helen M. Doyle.

In 1940, Teresa Kiefer, 8, lived with her parents and siblings in the home of her maternal grandparents, Robert and Anna Doyle, in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County. Teresa's siblings were Regis, 10, Virginia Mae, 6, and Joan, 3.

Teresa married Manus R. Gallagher on November 7, 1953, in Pittsburgh.

Teresa Gallagher, Prospect Heights, Illinois, last renewed her nursing license in 1979.

OBITUARY: Teresa Laverne Gallagher was born March 7, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA to Jacob and Helen (nee Doyle) Kiefer. She passed away on March 27, 2024 at her home in Arlington Heights, with her family by her side.

She was a 1952 graduate of St. Francis Hospital Nursing School, with a lifelong career of caring for others, primarily at Fahey Medical Center in Des Plaines. Her passions included her family, her faith community, culinary treats, ice skating and square dancing.

Teresa is survived by her children, Timothy (Peg) Gallagher, Terence (Lynn) Gallagher, Mark (Karen) Gallagher and Michael (Christine) Gallagher; her grandchildren, Megan (Eric), Brian (Ashley), Shannon (Aaron), Erin (Ian), Kaitlyn (Malcolm), Ryan (Emily), Morgan, Brendan, Cody, Owen and Emma; her 14 great grandchildren and her sister Mae (late Donald) Martin and by many nieces and nephews.

Teresa is preceded in death by her husband Manus Gallagher (d. 2008) whom she married in 1953; her siblings Regis (late Mary) Kiefer, Joanne (late Frank) Cheetham, Robin (late Art) Leslie and Richard (Kathy) Kiefer and by her parents.Visitation from Monday, April 1, 2024 at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 10:30 am. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum, Des Plaines.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Manus R. Gallagher of Prospect Heights The funeral Mass for Mr. Manus R. Gallagher will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday, at the church. Born Sept. 10, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to William and Alice (nee Kuhler) Gallagher, he died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in Rolling Meadows. Mr. Gallagher served with the Army during the Korean War. He was a 1960 graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. Also, Manus was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, council # 6481 and a member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians, Division 15, in Pittsburgh. Manus is survived by his wife, Teresa (nee Kiefer) Gallagher, whom he married on November 7, 1953, in Pittsburgh; his children, Timothy (Peg) Gallagher of Schaumburg, Terence (Lynn) Gallagher of Scotch Plains, N.J., Mark (Karen) Gallagher of Palatine and Michael (Christine) Gallagher of Bartlett; his grandchildren, Megan, Brian, Shannon, Erin, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Morgan, Brendan, Cody, Owen and Emma; and his brothers, William, Robert, James and Roger Gallagher. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Alphonsus Building Fund, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
