Class of 1950-A
Elaine K. Davin, age 85, of Salem, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home. She was born June 12, 1929 in Erie PA, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Anna Elizabeth (King) Kestel.
Elaine last worked in the pharmacy at the Salem Community Hospital, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and was a founding member of Our Lady’s Purse.
She graduated from the Villa Marie Academy Erie, PA in 1947; she went on to graduate from the Saint Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA in 1950.
Her husband, Denis D. Davin, whom she married on January 28, 1984 preceded her in death on September 4, 2011.
Children of Elaine and Robert W. Cowie, Kathleen (Cowie) Betso, Susan (Richard) Ross, David Cowie, Judith Schneider, Barbara (Robert) Stein, Martin (Trudy) Cowie, Mary Ellen (Curt) Maguire, Mark Cowie, Robert W. Cowie Jr. (deceased).
Elaine leaves 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert W. Cowie Jr. and grandson, Joshua Schneider.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Steve Wassie officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
