OBITUARY: Anna C. “Cathy” (Kennedy) Hedgeland, 85, of Renovo passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Gatehouse in Williamsport. - She was born July 19, 1927 in Renovo the daughter of Elmer and Helen (Haschalk) Kennedy. - Anna was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph High School and also St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, where she received her RN degree. - Anna was married to James G. Hedgeland on August 20, 1955. They celebrated 57 years of marriage together. - She worked for Community Nursing Services as a Registered Nurse, retiring in 1985. - She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, of Renovo and the Catholic Daughters of America. - Anna enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and flowers. - Surviving are her loving husband; two sons, Mark (Anne) Hedgeland, of Woolrich and Steven (Mary) Hedgeland, of Sayre; three daughters, Kim (Larry) Vognet of Austin, Ark., Pat (Jim) McGee of Montoursville and Sue (John) Schreiber of Pipersville; 12 grandchildren, Garrett, Derek, Brian, Patrice, Brian, Kate, Mark, Kaitlyn, Caila, Tahlia, Michelle and Laura; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Phillip Kennedy, of Ill. - She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Earl and Roger; and two sisters, Cecelia Shaffer and Mary Riddles. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, July 15 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo with the Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. - Friends and relatives will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. - Memorial contributions can be made to the Improvement fund at St. Joseph Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo, Pa. 17764 or the Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, Pa. 17701. - Interment will be at North Bend Cemetery. - Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
