Margaret Mary Kellner, born in Pittsburgh on September 16, 1918, was the daughter of John J. Kellner (1881-1934), a carpenter, and Mary Berthold, both born in Germany.

At the time of the 1920 Federal Census of Saint Clair, Allegheny County, John and Mary Kellner had the following children: Barbara, 11, Anna, 9, Pankistius/Pancrateous, 7, Henry, 5, John, 3, and Margaret, 1. By 1930, they had another son, George.

From a list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Margaret Mary Kellner, Calvin St., St. Francis Nurses Home, Pittsburgh." Margaret, 21, is also listed in the 1940 census as a resident of the Nurses' Home.

Margaret married Charles G. States. He died on February 17, 1994. Margaret died on November 9, 2000.
