NORMA E. JOHNSON

While a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Norma E. Johnson participated in the U. S., World War II Cadet Nursing Corps. According to her membership cards, she was born on January 21, 1927, and she resided in Rew, McKean County, Pennsylvania. Her father was Carl Johnson, an oil lease foreman.

In both the 1930 and 1940 census records, Norma was the only child listed for Carl and Anna Johnson.

FATHER'S OBITUARY: , Carl T. Johnson, 72, of Aiken, died Thursday morning at Bradford Hospital where he had been a patient since Sept. 26. - He was born in Sargeant on May 9, 1894, son of Albert and Josephine Erickson Johnson and attended school in Aiken where he moved with his parents as a young boy. He was employed as a foreman for 36 years by the Daly Oil company, retiring in 1959. He married the former Annie E. Delaney Oct. 16, 1918 in this city. - Mr. Johnson was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church and an honorary member of the Hilltop Fire Department. - Surviving are his wife: a daughter, Mrs. Norma E. Morrow of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Vern Madison of Aiken; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Painter of Aiken, and Mrs. Esther Hill of Lafayette, Ind.; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.... Burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Amarillo Globe-News (TX) — Friday, January 27, 2012 Gene F. Morrow, 83, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012. - Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Deacon Willy Montano officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. - Gene was born on June 5, 1928, in Fort Worth, to Andrew and Catherine Morrow. He was a lifelong resident of Amarillo and graduated from Price College in 1946. He married Norma Elaine Johnson on Nov. 26, 1948. He worked in sales and in oil and gas leasing, traveling throughout the Texas Panhandle. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. - He was an avid sports fan, coaching Little League and YMCA baseball and cheering on his beloved West Texas State University Buffs and the Fightin' Irish of Notre Dame. His other passions included collecting works of art, attending theater and musical productions, some that featured his own family members. He was always enthusiastically involved in his family's interests and accomplishments. - The center of Gene's life was his family and he will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and caring nature by all whose lives he touched. - Survivors include his beloved wife of over 63 years, Norma Elaine; a daughter, Diane Corbyn and husband Eric of Amarillo; two sons, Mike Morrow of Dallas and Dan Morrow and wife Mary Ann of Plano; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Corbyn, Molly Morrow, Shannon Morrow and Joseph Morrow. - The family will receive guests from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. - Sign the online guest book at www.schoolerfuneralhome.com. - Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 27, 2012
