Class of 1934
Sophie was the daughter of Stefan Jakubowski and Stella (Stanislawa) Stubinski, Polish immigrants, who came to America in 1911. When Mr. Jakubowski applied for Naturalization in 1919, they resided on Olivia Street, McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He listed the following children: Thadeus, b Dec 25, 1911 in Latrobe, Pa.; Sophie, born on November 20, 1913 in McKees Rocks, and Sigamund, born July 26, 1917 in McKees Rocks.
The father, Stephan Jakubowski, 43, a painter, resided with his wife, Stella, 38, at 716 Benwood Avenue, Stowe Township, at the time of the 1930 census. Their children were Thadeus, 18, Stella, 16, Sigimund, 12, and George, 8.
Sophie M. Jakubowski married Adalbert J. Bialek, both of McKees Rocks. Their marriage license was announced in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on May 19, 1936.
From a list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "S. Jakubowski Bialek, 716 Benwood Ave., McKees Rocks."
At the time of the 1940 census, Adalbert and Sophie had an infant daughter, Barbara Ann.
The death of Sophie Bialek, age 41, occurred on June 16, 1955, the result of a coronary occlusion. Her name is spelled as Sophia M. Bialek, the daughter of Stephen Jakubowski and Stella Stubinski. Sophie lived at 731 Benwood Avenue, Stowe Township. She is buried at St. Marys Cemetery, Kennedy Township, Allegheny County.

Sophie's husband, Adalbert Bialek, married two more times before his death in 1997.
The mother, Stella, died on October 14, 1964, at which time she was a widow. The three sons - Theodore (formerly Thadeus), Sigmund, and George - are mentioned in her death notice, but not Sophie.
