Thelma M. Jacobs was born on April 20, 1910 in Roscoe, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Albert H. Jacobs, born in Illinois, and Catherine Smith, born in Pennsylvania.
In the 1920 Federal Census, Albert, a steel worker, and Catherine, had the following children at home: Howard, 12, Thelma, 9, and Ruth, 7.
By 1930, the father, Albert, was deceased, having died of pneumonia in 1928. Thelma, 21, lived with her widowed mother, 45, and two younger sisters, Ruth, 17, and Charlotte, 9.
Nurse, Thelma M. Jacobs, 28, born April 20, 1910, a resident of Wilkinsburg, married DeLorma B. McCune, 35, born in Pittsburgh. He was divorced in 1926. The marriage took place in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County on July 15, 1938.
