Monica Ann (Hudacek) Niemeyer was born the daughter of Michael and Mary (Herchko) Hudacek, on April 9, 1935, in Smock, Pennsylvania. She died peacefully Sunday, May 28, 2006, at her home in Guttenberg. Monica graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Connellsville, PA. in 1953, and from St. Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, Pa in 1956. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh and later at Lockbourne Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio. On April 15, 1961 she was united in marriage to then Lieutenant, USAF, James E. Niemeyer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Connellsville, Pa. Monica later worked as an RN at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital for 19 Years. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband James; one daughter, Christina Niemeyer of Portage, Wisconsin; one son, Michael Niemeyer of Guttenberg; grandson Nicholaus J. Klaes, Andrew H. and Alexander J. Niemeyer both of whom she raised in her home as her own “children”; two sisters, Camille (Jack) Kraynak of Connellsville, Pa. and Mary Ann (Valad) Buberniak of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Martin Hudacek of Connellsville, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Mary Ann; two brothers, Father Edward Hudacek and Clement Hudacek.
Visitation: Tuesday 4:00-7:00 P.M. May 30, 2006 at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Guttenberg, Iowa and one hour before service at church. Funeral Service: Wednesday 10:00 A.M. May 31, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Guttenberg, Iowa Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery
