Helen's sister, Marian Horner, graduated in the St. Francis School of Nursing Class of 1944.

Helen T. Horner, Nurse, 23, employed at Veterans Hospital, Aspinwall, married Andrew R. Piergeorge, a physician, on July 10, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. The marriage license application indicates that Helen was born on December 4, 1924 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was the daughter of William Kent Horner, born in Denver, Colorado, and Hazel Keenan, born in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Both parents were deceased at the time of the marriage. Dr. Piergeorge, 26, was the son of Peter and Mathilde (Henner?) Piergeorge, both born in France.

As stated, Helen was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, but by 1930, the family had moved to Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. At that time, Marian, 7, and Helen, 5, had a 7 month old brother, William.

Helen Horner Piergeorge died on February 9, 2000; last residence, Jupiter, Florida. Her husband died on August 31, 2010.
