Cecilia M. Holzer was born June 26, 1885 in Mount Oliver, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were George Holzer (1847-1929) and Eva Bahl (1854-1922), both born in Germany. Cecilia's siblings were Anna, Margaret, George, Elizabeth, John, Mary, Martha, William, Albert, Bertha, Ciara, Veronica, Sylvester, and Martha.
At the time of the 1910 Federal Census, Cecilia, age 25, was a student nurse, living at the Nurses' Residence at St. Francis Hospital.
Cecilia married Lloyd Herbert Rimert, on July 5, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on May 15, 1878 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
In 1930, Lloyd and Cecilia were living in Allegheny County and he was employed as an inspector at a steam railroad. They had one child, Mary Thelma, age 7.
While living on Joseph Street, Baldwin, with their daughter in 1940, Lloyd and Cecilia had three girls - "court wards" - in their home, ages 15, 13, and 11.
Lloyd died on October 20, 1965 in Pittsburgh. Cecilia died August 3, 1968. They are buried at Saint Wendelin Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
