Grace Maria Hoffman was born in 1907 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, the daughter of Christian Hoffman and Emma Long, both born in West Virginia.

At the time of the 1920 Federal Census, the Hoffman family lived in Triadelphia, Ohio County, West Virginia. Christian and Emma Hoffman were the parents of Christian, 16, and Grace, 13. Mr. Hoffman was a grocery salesman.

In 1930, Grace, 22, was a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, and she resided at the Nurses' Residence.

She married Dr. Joseph J. Settino.

Dr. and Mrs. Settino were living in Wheeling, West Virginia at the time of the 1940 census. The record states that Grace was born in Wheeling, and her husband in Sharpsburg.

From a list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Grace Hoffmann Settino, 126 Washington Ave., Wheeling, W. Va."

Grace Hoffman Settino died on April 2, 1975.
