Her name at graduation was Sylvia Hammill but she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Gibbs) Rueger, and the sister of Joseph and Norma. The family lived in Millvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Sylvia was born about 1937 and she graduated from Shaler High School about 1953. Her father died in 1956 and Sylvia was unmarried at that time. Apparently, she later married unknown Hammill.

On September 16, 1978, Syvia F. Rueger, 43, married Clemens A. Stolinski in Los Angeles, California. They must have divorced and her name was again Sylvia Hammill in her mother's 1999 obituary, at which time Sylvia resided at Carpinteria, California. Siblings, Joseph, Jr. and Norma (Kulichik) died in 1991 and 2016, respectively.

The death of Sylvia Hammill Stolinski was announced in the February 2021 Alumni Newsletter, The date of death is unknown.
