MILTON EDWARD "Skeezix" CIESLAK, 81, a lifelong resident of Everson, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 25, 2003, at his residence on Jones Street. He was born in Everson, July 14, 1922, a son of the late Anthony Cieslak who died April 17, 1956, and Sophia Sebzba Cieslak who died June 23, 1978. He was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. Milton retired January 1986, from the Scottdale Machine and Foundry of Everson where he was a fitter for 44 years. He was a proud veteran of the Armed Forces serving with the U.S. Army during World War II with Co. C 83rd Medical Battalion as a dental technician in Europe. He attained the rank of tech sergeant and was engaged in the Battle of Rhineland Central Europe. Milton was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars. Milton was a member of the Shopmen’s Local 527, Pittsburgh. Milton’s memories will forever be cherished in the heart of his wife of 52 years, Frances H. Haluch Cieslak whom he married April 14, 1951; his loving children, Nancy Glessman and her husband, Glenn of Pittsburgh, James E. Cieslak and his wife, Kathy of Bethlehem, Jane C. Hellmann and her husband, Dan of Jeannette; his three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Emily J. Cieslak, Ellen L. Cieslak and John C. Hellmann; his sister, Laverne Klejka of Mammoth; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by his two brothers, John Cieslak and Thomas Cieslak, who died May 25, 1978; and his two sisters, Ann Klejka and Mary Kovach. Milton’s family will greet friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by his funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St Joseph RC Church, Everson. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.


Obituary of Frances H. Haluch Cieslak

Frances H. Haluch Cieslak, 84, a longtime resident of Everson, died early Saturday Morning, November 5, 2011 in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving children.

She was born January 31, 1927 in Donora, Pa. a daughter of the late Stanley and Julia Musial Haluch.

Frances was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, and the Church St. Joseph Society.

Following her graduation from Donora High School in 1945, she entered St. Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, where she graduated with the Class of 1948. On April 14, 1951, she married Milton E. “Skeezix” Cieslak, who passed away on December 25, 2003.

Frances was employed as a Registered Nurse for 13 years at the former Mt. Pleasant Hospital and was a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union Of America.

Frances was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister who enjoyed spending quality time with her Children & Grandchildren and loved preparing their favorite foods such as Pierogies and Pizza.

Frances’ memories will forever remain in the hearts of her loving and devoted children:
Nancy Glessman and husband Glenn of Pittsburgh; James E. Cieslak and wife Kathy of Bethlehem, PA; Jane C. Hellmann and husband Dan of Jeannette. Her Three Grandchildren, > Emily J. and Ellen L Cieslak, both of Bethlehem, PA, and John C. Hellmann and wife Stephanie of North Huntingdon. Her Brother, Ted Haluch and wife Josephine, of Cambridge Springs, Pa.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her loving Husband of 52 years, Milton E. “Skeezix” Cieslak (Dec. 25, 2003), a sister: Pauline Kopanic, and her brother, Frank Haluch.

Frances’ family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 W. Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Sunday from 6 – 8 PM and Monday 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8PM.

Prayers of Transfer will be recited Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10AM in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, with her Pastor, Rev. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson, next to her late husband Skeezix.

The St. Joseph Society will recite the Rosary Monday at 2PM and a Parish Wake Service will follow at 3:30PM, both in the Funeral Home.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggests that Memorials be made to St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, Pa. 15631.
