Surelle Gross was born in California on March 2, 1932 to Joseph J. "Jack" Gross and Shirley Annette Rashoff. A brother, Jerome Stephen Gross, completed the family.
At the time of the 1940 Federal Census, the family lived on Wightman Street, Pittsburgh. The record indicates they lived in Los Angeles, California in 1935. Jack Gross was a traveling salesman for a building construction firm.
SECOND HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: CARTER, Milton 88, of St. Petersburg, passed away Feb. 20, 2011. Milton was born in Worcester, MA and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a former president of the National Association of Home Builders. Milton also helped to establish the Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club as well as serve as its first Commodore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Surelle; children, Jordan (Marcia) Carter and Judy (Zev) Pade; stepchildren, Russ (Andrea) Lebovitz, Ellen Armstrong, Greg (Alla) Lebovitz, and Brad (Marilyn) Lebovitz; sister, Charlotte Egoodkin; brother, George (Helen) Cowan; and 13 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 10 am Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at the David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Milton's memory would be appreciated to Temple Beth-El, 400 Pasadena Ave. S., St. Petersburg.
