Martha Grigassy was born on March 17, 1917 in Czechoslovakia. Her parents were Julius A. Grigassy, a priest in the Greek Catholic Church, and Yolanda Kustan.

The family, all born in Czechoslovakia, immigrated to the U. S. in 1924 and are found in the 1930 Federal Census of Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The children of Father Grigassy and his wife were Julius, 19, Magdalena, 17, Eugene, 15, Martha, 13, and Nicolas, 8.

In 1940, Martha was listed as a student nurse in the census of St. Francis Hiospital. She is also named in the enumeration of her family on George Street, Braddock.

Julius Grigassy, born in Hungary on December 29, 1886, died on August 1, 1959. He is buried at Monongahela Cemetery, Braddock Hills, Allegheny County.

Martha Grigassy was a resident of Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania when she last renewed her nursing license in August 1981.

Martha died in Morrisville in August 1983.
