Marion J. Goryl was born on October 12, 1917 at Ellsworth, Washington County, Pennsylvania. According to her Social Security record, her parents were Adam Goryl (1887-1964), and Caroline Wisniewski (1894-1977), both born in Poland.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census of Bentleyville, Washington County, Adam Goryl, a mine worker, and his wife, Caroline, were the parents of Mary (Marion), 13, Joseph, 10, Stanley, 8, and John, 3.

During World War II, Marion Goryl, a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, volunteered for service in the U. S. Army. She served from July 15, 1942 until March 6, 1946, at which time she was a 1st Lieutenant. When she applied for Veteran Compensation in 1950, her married name was McClung and she resided at Fort Worth, Texas.

Marion Goryl McClung died on December 27, 1988 at Dallas, Texas. She is buried at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth, Texas. Her husband, Robert B. McClung, died in 2000. An online genealogy indicates that her given name was originally Mary Josephine.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: DALLAS - Robert B. "Bob" McClung, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000. - Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dallas. The Rev. Msgr. Richard E. Johnson, celebrant. Graveside service: 11:45 a.m. in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Rosary 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home Chapel. - Memorials: If desired, memorials may be made to the Denton State School. - He was born Oct. 26, 1917, in Fort Worth and lived there for approximately 40 years. He was a resident of Dallas since 1968. He graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High in 1935, John Tarleton Junior College in 1937 and Texas Wesleyan in 1939. He taught at Roanoke High School and worked for Southwestern Bell, retiring after 42 years of service as a district engineer. Bob served in the U.S. Army, 65th Signal Battalion, Company A, during World War II, attaining the rank of captain by the war's end. Until his death, Bob was a strong advocate for the mentally retarded in Texas and an active supporter of Denton State School. - He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Goryl McClung; and his son, Robert Stanley McClung. - Survivors: His wife of the past 10 years, Evelyn Neill McClung of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Connie McClung, and grandchildren, Christa, Jeffrey and Catherine McClung, all of Richardson; brother, Cecil L. McClung of Panama City, Fla.; brother and sister-in law, William and Martha McClung of Weatherford; stepchildren, Vicki Winkler and husband, Luther, and Tim Neill and wife, Linda; and numerous other relatives and friends.
