In District Court, Pittsburgh, on March 31, 1931, Miss Anne Gallacher filed a Declaration of Intention to become a Naturalized Citizen. She stated she was a graduate nurse, age 30, and was born at Bridge of Weir, Scotland on October 10, 1900. She said she emigrated to the United States on November 16, 1925.
On February 1, 1935, Anna Gallacher, 33, Graduate Nurse, and a resident of Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, sailed from Glasgow, Scotland to New York, apparently after a visit. The manifest indicates she was born at Bridge of Weir, Scotland.
From the list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Ann Agnes Gallacher, 4744 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh."
Nurse Ann Gallacher was one of the injured in an early morning fire that killed a fellow St. Francis graduate. At 6:20 a.m. on January 3, 1942, Miss Marie Gabriel, a resident of 4744 Friendship Avenue, Pittsburgh, burned to death when the rooming house she lived in caught fire.
Anne A. Gallacher, as spelled on her grave marker, died on May 20, 1989. She is buried at Twin Valley Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
