ANNA MAE STATTI - On Monday January 18, 2010, Mrs. Anna Mae Statti of Oakland died of natural causes at the age of 88. Mrs. Statti, wife of the late Dr. Louis W. Statti of Pittsburgh, was a retired St. Francis registered nurse, a U.S. Navy Nursing Corps veteran and a Home Economics graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Mrs. Statti was active with The Women's Auxiliary to the Pittsburgh Opera and the Embroiderer's Guide of America. She also held certificates of cooking from the Gritti Palace Hotel in Venice and the Columbia-Excelsior Hotel in Genoa, Italy. Mrs. Statti was born in Duquesne, PA in 1921. She spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy Nursing Corps serving as Dietician aboard the USS Repose hospital ship. While in the Navy she also attended George Washington University for a dietetic course. Mrs. Statti attended Carnegie Mellon University under the G. I. Bill of Rights and earned a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Statti is survived by two sons, Louis and Albert and a daughter, Adrienne. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (412-621-1665) Friday 2-4 and 6-8PM. Funeral Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral 10:30AM. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
