The 1920 Federal Census, finds Florence Dwyer, 23, on Lehigh St. Pittsburgh with her husband, William Dwyer. Both were born in Newfoundland, and they had immigrated in 1919. William was a telephone Operator at the railroad.
On August 22, 1929, Florence Dwyer, a nurse, 32, born in St. John Newfoundland, a resident of Pittsburgh, arrived in New York from St. John, Newfoundland.
In the 1930 census, Florence M. Dwyer, 32, married (age 20 at marriage), lived as a lodger with her son, James G., 9, on Alder Street, Pittsburgh. She was a Graduate Nurse, Hospital. The record indicates that she immigrated in 1919 and was an Alien. Apparently, she was separated from her husband.
The child, James Gerard Dwyer, was the son of Florence M. Dobbin and William P. Dwyer.
The divorce of Florence M. Dwyer and William P. Dwyer was published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on May 2, 1935.
Florence M. Dwyer, Nurse, is listed in the Pittsburgh City Directory on Alder Street, in the years 1931, 1932, 1934, 1937.
From the list of Registered Nurses in Pennsylvania, 1940-1941, published by the State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Florence Dwyer Pollitt, 6711 McPherson Blvd., Pittsburgh."
At the time of the 1940 census of Pittsburgh, Florence, 40, born in Newfoundland, was married to Frank Pollitt, 39, an electrical contractor, born in Pennsylvania. Also in the home on McPherson Boulevard, was Gerard Dwyer, Florence's son, age 19, born in Pennsylvania.
HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Pittsburgh Press, Nov 17, 1954 -- Frank G. Pollitt - Funeral services for Frank G. Pollitt of 10015 Frankstown Rd., will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the All Saints Episcopal Church of Verona Road. - An electrician, Mr. Pollitt died yesterday at his home after being stricken with a heart attack. He wsa 53. - A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local No. Five, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Florence D. Pollitt; a stepson, Major James Dwyer, of Okinawa Air Force Base; three sisters, Mrs. A. W. Boltz, of Fairhaven, NJ; Mrs. Florence Bon, of Florida, and Mrs. Hazel James of Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren. - Friends being received at the Campbell Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, East Liberty. Burial will be Allegheny Cemetery.
James Gerard Dwyer had a 28 year career as an officer in the United States Air Force, eventually settling in Sacramento, California.
According to the Social Security Death Index, Florence Dobbin Dwyer Pollitt was born in Canada on May 5, 1895, and she died November 9, 1975. She is bried at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, Fair Oaks, Sacramento County, California.

Lucas of N. C. and Susan M. Dwyer of Rancho Cordova; also survived by three great-grandchildren, David M., Carey and Jennifer Lucas. A requiem Mass will be Tues., Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 10497 Coloma Rd., Rancho Cordova. Interment Mt. Vernon Memorial Park. A recitation of the Rosary was Mon., No. 10, at 8:30 p.m. in Mt. Vernon Church of the Valley, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Cal. Remembrances to the Cancer Society.
