At the time of the 1940 Federal Census, Mary Doyle, 20, was a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital. The census record indicates that Mary was born in Pennsylvania and her home in 1935 was Midland, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
She is also listed with her family in Midland in the 1940 census. Leo Doyle, and his wife, Mary, both 41, were the parents of Mary, 20, Leo, Jr., 16, Paul, 14, and Robert, 13. The father was employed in the Open Hearth at the steel mill.
Mary Cecilia Doyle was born on December 29, 1919 in Midland. Her parents were Leo Francis Doyle and Mary Elizabeth Barrett.
Following her graduation from nursing school in 1941, Mary Cecilia served in the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II. She entered the service on June 8, 1943 and served as an Ensign. She separated from active service on July 17, 1944.
She married Donald Bruce King, also a U. S. Navy Veteran, on January 28, 1956 in Pittsburgh.
Mary C. Doyle King died on February 4, 2003 at New Port Richey, Pasco County, Florida. Donald Bruce King, born May 4, 1923, died November 17, 2007 in New Port Richey. They are buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
