He was born in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, and was employed as a Transitman. Elizabeth was born July 18, 1905 in Avalon, Allegheny County. Her parents were Benjamin Dorr, born in Ohio, and Mary E. Atkins, born in Allegheny County. At the time of her marriage, her father was deceased and her mother resided with her on Penn Avenue.

Elizabeth Dorr Colston died on July 3, 1987 in Broward County, Florida. Her last residence, per her Social Security record, was Pompano Beach, Broward County.
