HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Dr. George C. Fischer Jr., Franklin Park -- Dr. George C. Fischer Jr., age 72, died in his home on Monday, June 11, 2001. He was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 23, 1928, son of the late Dr. George C. and Alma Fischer. Dr. Fischer was a graduate of North Catholic High School, St. Vincent College in Latrobe, and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School with a specialty in oral surgery. He was a third generation dentist. Dr. Fischer had a long-time practice in the North Hills area. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. John Neumann Church, Franklin Park. Survived by his wife, Francine Devine Fischer; two daughters, Lisa F. Bixby of Waukesha, Wis. and Mimi S. Heimsoth of Ellicott City, Md.; four sons, George C. Fischer III of Ross, James L. Fischer of Morris, Conn., Matthew E. Fischer of Wilmington, Del. and William M. Fischer of Baltimore; one sister, Margaret Knowlton of Cary, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren. - Visitation Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Neumann Church Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross.
