OBITUARY: Sherry J. Schaas, 84, formerly of New Castle passed away the afternoon of September 26, 2023 at her residence in Bethel Park, PA

Born in New Castle on May 26 1939, Sherry was the daughter of the late Richard and Maxine DeLillo Davis.

Sherry married her beloved husband, John R. Schaas on December 1, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2016.

Sherry had worked as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Unit of Jameson Hospital. She then worked in the office of Dr. French, Dr. Wright and Dr. Ginsburg.

She enjoyed crocheting and baking. A loving mother and grandmother, Sherry’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sherry is survived by her daughter, Cathy Johnson (Matthew) of Bethel Park, PA, her four grandchildren, Ethan Oczkowski, Abby Oczkowski, Brooklyn Johnson and Brayden Johnson and her niece, Shea McKelvey and nephew, Kevin Davis.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sherry was preceded in death by her son, Mark Schaas and brother, Joseph Davis.

Visitation will be on Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.

Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
