At the time of the 1900 Federal Census of Harrison, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, William P. Conroy, 44, born in Ireland, and Margaret J. Conroy, born in England, had the following children: William, Edward, Evlene M., Agnes, Margaret, Annie M., Mary A., and Robert E. The father was a Tailor.
The family is found in 1910 in Tarentum, at which time Evaline M. Conroy, 25, daughter of Margaret J. Conroy, was a Nurse for Private Families. Siblings were Edward, Agnes, Margurite, Anna M., Mary A., and Robert E. - The father is not listed with the family. The census was enumerated in April 1910.
On May 20, 1910, Margaret Jane Carroll Conroy died suddenly of a heart issue.
Edward P. Conroy, a widower, died of pneumonia on April 7, 1919 in Tarentum, Allegheny County. The informant was Evylin Conroy, Tarentum.
In 1920, Evelyn M. Conroy, 35, born in Pennsylvania, was a student nurse at St. Francis and she lived at the Nurses' Residence. She had probably been practicing as a nurse in earlier years, and trained formally at St. Francis so she could obtain the required license.
Evelyn M. Conroy, 4744 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, is named in the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing list of Registered Nurses for 1940-1941.
On January 3, 1942, while residing in the rooming house on Friendship Avenue, Evelyn escaped death when the house caught fire, killing two inhabitants, including St. Francis graduate, Marie Gabriel. The comprehensive story is HERE.

Following the tragedy, Evelyn moved to 245 South Mathilda Street. In 1950, she traveled to Ireland.
Born on June 27, 1884, Evelyn M. Conroy died on June 16, 1966. She is buried at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Allegheny County.
