Burke, vice president of the Valley Supply Co., and a deputy in the County sheriff's office for the past eight years, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday at St. Justin's Church, Mt. Washington. - Mr. Burke, of 348 Bailey Ave., Mt. Washington, died Saturday at his country home in Conneautville, Crawford County. - A lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, Mr. Burke was a wholesale buyer for the Pittsburgh Coal Co., the Triangle Grocery Co., Donahoe's and his own firm. - He was a charter member of the Knights of Equity, Court No. 9, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary of the Mount Lyceum and the Holy Name Society of St. Justin's Church. - Surviving are his widow, Rose Carroll Burke; two sons, Martin P., Jr. of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Francis of Mt. Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Adams of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Rosemary Anderson and Mrs. Anne Ferguson of Pittsburgh; a brother, Stewart of Mt. Washington, and 18 grandchildren. - Friends are being received at the William Slater & Sons Funeral Home, 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
OBITUARY: Rosemary A. Burke Anderson, age 93, of Lawrence Park Twp., passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 27, 2015. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Martin P. and Rose J. Carroll Burke. - Rosemary had served in the United States Army Nursing Corp during the Korean War. She had been employed for many years as a nurse by the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the St. Vincent Hospital. Rosemary was a member of Mount Calvary R.C. Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Siebenbuerger Club. Rosemary enjoyed golfing and extending warm hospitality to friends and family. She was a selfless caregiver, who always put the needs and care of other before herself. - Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward A. Anderson; and two sisters, Ann Ferguson and Pat Adams. Survivors include her three children, Martin Anderson, Patricia Kaminski (Kevin Green) and Edward Anderson (Erin); two brothers, Martin Burke (Janet) and Carroll Burke (Bernadette); five grandchildren, Brian Kaminski, April Schreiber, Macy Kaminski, Adam and Ryan Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. - Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday at Mount Calvary RC Church at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Gregory Cemetery.
