This family emigrated from Ostran Austria Hungary in 1903.
Karel Botula arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Hannover on April 24, 1903. His wife, Johana, came with their first three children (Karola, Maxmillian and Frantiska) on the S. S. King Albert from Bremen and arrived at New York on September 5, 1903. [ellisisland.org] They settled in Cokeburg Borough, Washington County, Pa., and Karel (aka Charles) worked in the mines.

Daughter, Karola, was not found, but her sister, Francis (originally "Frantiska"), was listed as a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Francis graduated in 1922; Karola graduated in 1929. Francis was not found after the 1920 census.

Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel's, 3406 Fifth Ave. Funeral Friday morning, March 14, at 8:30 o'clock. High mass of requiem at St. Agnes Church at 9 o'clock.

Note: The name is spelled "Karola" - not "Karole" - in more recent records. She was born September 16, 1899, and at the time of her death she lived at Allison Park, Allegheny County, Pa. Her husband died in November 1976.
