OBITUARY
Evelyn June Frayer 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 20th, 2005.
Mrs. Frayer, born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, retired from Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, in 1986 where she served as a Registered nurse for 26 years. She worked for 13 years as a nurse for the Marquette Manor Health Care Center in Indianapolis from1986 until 1999. She received her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1942 where she worked until 1944 when she entered the Army Nurse Corps.
During her army career she served at Fort Meade, Maryland, Fort Eustis, Virginia, and Nichols General Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky where she retired as a 1st Lieutenant in 1946. That same year she was married to Wilson A. Frayer and they moved to Indianapolis. They had five children. Mrs. Frayer gave of her time and talents through her church and to many charitable organizations. She was a lifelong member of the Meridian Street United Methodist Church and served in numerous capacities. She worked for many years with the Visiting Nurse Services giving flu vaccinations, volunteered as a nurse for the Red Cross and health clinics at the Robin Run retirement community. When not spending time with friends or her large family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she could be found at the Let's Dance studio where she enjoyed and excelled at Ball Room dancing well into her 83rd year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Natalie Bloom; brother, Robert Bloom; sister, Louise St. Germain; and her grandson, Jacob Frayer.
Mrs. Frayer is survived by her brothers: William M. Bloom, Richard L. Bloom, and Fred S. Bloom; sons: Paul W. (Avie) Frayer, David W. (Vicki) Frayer, and Christopher J. (Debi) Frayer; her daughters: Cathy J. Frayer and Nancy J. Cook; her grandchildren: Julie (Scott) Piller, Jessica (Brad) Riggins, Jennifer (Dan) Frayer-Griggs, Jaime, Jonathan, Joseph, Jillian, Jared, Jamie (Clint) Frease, Christopher Jr. (Jamie), Corey, Joy, Jeremy (Heather) Cook, James (Dani) Cook, Peter Rexroth, Stephen Rexroth, Leah Rexroth and Joel Rexroth; her great-grandchildren: Corbin Riggins, Kaden Riggins, and Mackenzie Frayer.
Funeral services will be held at Meridian Street United Methodist church on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. Friends may call Friday, October 21, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Broad Ripple.
