Ann (also Anna, Anne, Annie) Bendetta is first found in the 1920 Federal Census of Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. The parents, Dominico and Anna, and their oldest child, Concetta, 17, were born in Italy. The other children, all born in Pennsylvania, were Louie, 15, Nick, 13, Mary, 8, Adeline, 6, Rosie, 4, and Annie, almost 2. The parents immigrated in 1902 and became Naturalized Citizens in 1912. The father was a "car inspector, railroad shops."
In 1930, the family was still in Blairsville, and "Dominick" held the same job as a car inspector. The children in the home were Louie, 25, Nick, 22, Mary E., 18, Lena L., 17, Rose V., 14, and Anna D., 12.
Ann graduated in 1939. By 1940, her mother had died, and her father lived in Blairsville with son, Louis, and daughter, Rose. Louis, single, 42, died of a pulmonary embolus in 1942.
Anne Bendetta, Nurse, is found in the 1942 City Directory of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pa. She was employed at Westmoreland Hospital.
Anne married Roland James Martino, and they lived in Greensburg. They had a daughter, Marina, who died in 1948. They had a son, Roland, Jr., born in 1949.
"Anne Martino," daughter of "Dominick Bendetto" and "Ann D'Angelo," born December 25, 1918, died of cancer at Westmoreland Hospital on August 3, 1957. She is buried at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Her husband remarried and then died in 1970. He was in the Army Air Force during WWII, and is buried next to Ann.
According to the obituary of Ann's sister, Rose, in 2004, the family name was "DeBendetto."
