Lucinda Ruth is consistently found in records as Ruth L. or Ruth Lucinda. In the 1930 census she was Ruth. Her siblings, both older, were Mildred and John.
Her nursing license in 1940-1941 was "Lucinda Ruth Baughman, 309 N. 2nd St., Jeannette."
Miss Baughman served two periods in the Army Nurse Corps, between July 15, 1942 and February 18, 1946. She entered the service at Pittsburgh, and her enlistment is under the name "Ruth L. Baughman," born October 5, 1914 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
A news article, dated 1942, indicates that Ruth Baughman was going to serve under "Dr. Harry Feathers, head surgeon at St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Army..."
When she applied for compensation in 1950, she was living in Philadelphia.
In December 1952, the name on the Social Security application was "Ruth Lucinda Baughman" daughter of Martin L. Baughman and Mary A. Law. In 1996, after her death, the name on the Social Security record was "Ruth L. Baughman."
Lucinda Ruth Baughman, aka Ruth Lucinda Baughman, died on March 5, 1996. Her last residence was Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. She is buried at Jeannette Memorial Cemetery, Jeannette, Westmoreland County. She has a bronze goverment-issued marker.
