Mary Arenth, born in Pittsburgh on February 1, 1890, was the daughter of Jacob Arenth and Josephene Kroneiser, both born in France. At the time of the 1910 Federal Census, the family lived in Etna, Allegheny County, and the father was a mill foreman. The mother had given birth to 13 children and 8 were still living. The children in the home in 1910 were Jacob, 25, Mary, 20, Joseph, 19, Clementine, 14, Leo, 9, George, 7, and Victor, 5.

Mary Arenth and Leo C. Scholl applied for a marriage license in Pittsburgh in May 1921.

The death of Mary Arenth Scholl occurred on January 29, 1945 at Shadyside Hospital.
