Class of 1932
Stephanie Andras, born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1909, was the daughter of Slovakian immigrants, Andrew and Anna Andras. The parents became Naturalized Citizens in 1901 and lived in Homestead, Allegheny County.
Stephanie is first found in the 1910 Federal Census, but she is identified as "Stephen," a male, age 4 months, in April 1910. Her siblings were Annie, 9, Margaret, 7, Frank, 5, and Pauline, 3. The father was a millwright in a rolling mill.
At the time of the 1920 Federal Census, "Stephenie Andres," age 10, was with her family, still in Homestead. Her siblings at that time were Anna, 18, Margaret, 16, Frank, 14, and Andrew, almost 2.
In 1930, the father, 51, was a laborer in the steel mill. In the home were wife, Anna, and the following children: Frank, 22, Stiffany, 20, Andrew, 12, and Martha, 3. "Stiffany" was employed as a nurse in a steel mill.
Stephanie graduated from the school of nursing in 1932, and then she married Anthony Giordano, born in New York.
In Flushing Township, Queens, New York, in 1940, Anthony Giordano, 36, worked as a Process Server in the District Attorney's office. Stephanie, 30, born in Pennsylvania, was a nurse in private practice. Anthony's mother, Josephine, born in Italy, lived with them.
In Allegheny County, Stephanie's sister, Martha Andras, died August 16, 1954 at age 27. The mother's name on the death certificate is Anna Stofura. - Anna died on January 6, 1957. They, as well as some family members who died later, are buried at St. Anne's Cemetery, Allegheny County.
Stephanie Giordano died in New York in February 1984, according to the Social Security Death Index. Her burial place is not known.
