"Magdelena T." Abt is found in the 1910 census of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. At that time, she was said to be 18 years old, born in Pennsylvania, parents born in Germany. She was a servant in the private home of Bernard J. and Mary A. Stinger/Stenger on Forbes Street.

She is also listed in 1910 as "Lena" with her family, at which time August J. Abt was the Head of Household. He was the uncle of Louise I., 6, Minnie, 20, Lena, 18, and Matilda, 15. Lena's occupation was house maid.

At the time of the 1920 census, "Magdeline" Abt, 28, was still listed as a servant in the Stinger/Stenger home. Mrs. Stenger, a widow, lived with her son, Robert. Louise I. and "Tillie" (Matilda) were living with the uncle, August J. Also in the home was Elias Abt, 94, father of August, presumably the grandfather of Magdalen, Louise, etc.

By 1930, "Magdelene Abt, age given as 33, was a Hospital Nurse, boarding in the residence of Frank Napierkowski.
