November 25th, 1814
Dear Sir:
I must inform you, disagreeable as it is to me, and no doubt will be for you to know that we buried your son, Walter, this day. We buried him in the Church yard decently. David is sick but I don't think he is dangerously ill. Your other two sons are well. It is -- -- -- -- indeed fifty odd sick in my Company. I am not very well myself. I hope these lines find you and yours well. I am grieved a the death of Private Walter Cunningham.
