Zachariah Griffith was born in 1842 in MD. He died on 22 Jun 1863 in Winchester, Frederick Co, VA. He served as a private in the Civil War, Company B, 12th WV Inf. Enlisted Rosby's Rock 1 Aug 1862; wounded in action at Winchester, Va, 13 Jun 1863 and was taken prisoner. He died there of his wounds 22 Jun 1863. s/o Daniel Griffith & Mary Van Sickle. He was a brother to Amos Griffith, Co B, 12th WV Inf.
