William Evans was born in 1843 in Aleppo Township, Greene Co., Pa., the son of Joseph and Elisabeth Evans.

Military Service: At age 18, enlisted 12-10-1861 as a Private in Co. "L" 6th WV Infantry. From 8-10-1862 he served for 2 years and 10 months as a Veteran in Co "B" 12th WV Infantry. Mustered out 6-28-1865.

Residence in 1890 - Cameron, WV. Death unknown.
